Blackberries were in season on Quadra - we made 3 gallons of jam.
Then on a crossing in the first bit of nasty weather we've had, I couldn't hold down a meal of pancakes smothered in the stuff and i've lost any inclination of eating it. - Gib
Well, if you continue to not be able to eat the jam it´ll have a home down south when you make it down here! hopefully you don´t hit to much more rough weather!
This trip is the culmination of nearly two years of scheming and is made possible by the generous help and support of family and friends.
The plan is to take the boat - recently redubbed ICE NINE, from Ketchikan, Alaska to our home port of Belfast, Maine. A trip of nearly 10,000 miles. When we began I gave our chance of success as 25 percent. Now, as I write this in Port Townsend, Washington I will revise that figure to 35 percent. No matter what happens, we will take the boat as far as we can safely manage and intend to take enough time to enjoy the people and places we visit along the way.
Please enjoy the blog and feel free to comment or express concern about my ability to operate a camera. - Gib
